Friends of Pride

The Grande Prairie Pride Society launched its Friends of Pride initiative in 2020 to showcase businesses and individuals in the Peace Country who are committed to supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. In exchange for supporting Pride efforts year-round, including partnerships with local agencies, members receive early access to ticketed Pride events, Pride merchandise, a Friends of Pride decal/logo for business use, and recognition on the Pride website.

Friends of Pride – Annual Commitment Form

The Grande Prairie Pride Society launched our first “Friends of Pride” initiative in 2020 to showcase people, non-profits and businesses in the Peace Country who are committed to supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. It has been incredible to continue to see the individual and commercial support all around us. We are reminded with each new and returning Friends of Pride application of the kind hearts and generosity that reside throughout our region.

We are looking forward to continuing to offer large-scale Pride events during the month of June, to grow our small community event offerings year-round in the Grande Prairie area, to direct members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to much-needed resources, and continuing to improve awareness, inclusivity, visibility and support.

By becoming a Friends of Pride, you are helping the Grande Prairie Pride Society work on these goals and more. Thank you for joining us in our mandate of creating safe and inclusive spaces for self-expression, as well as to promote equality and to celebrate the diversity of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community and its allies.

Code of Conduct Agreement

Board Members, Committee Members, Members, and Volunteers of the Grande Prairie Pride Society will at all times conduct themselves in a manner that: (1) Supports the mission and objectives of Grande Prairie Pride Society (2) Serves the overall best interests of the Society rather than any individual constituency (3) Brings credibility and goodwill to the Society (4) Respects the principles of fair play and due process (5) Actively fosters an inclusive, safe, and affirming environment for all individuals, particularly 2SLGBTQIA+ communities (6) Respects and gives fair consideration to diverse and opposing viewpoints (7) Demonstrates due diligence and dedication in preparation for and attendance at meetings (8) Discloses any real or perceived conflicts of interest and refrains from participation where such conflicts exist (9) When representing the Society publicly or on social media, communicates in a manner consistent with the values and reputation of the Society. Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in review and action by the Board, including removal in accordance with the By-Laws.
